1. Wrong.
3. We're not in Japan, and their phones, while technically better, are still worse overall. 4. 3G is damn fast, and other phones don't have anything better. 5. 3G. 6. So? It lasts a long time, and they'll replace it if it dies. 7. Glass is much better than plastic, because it is virtually scratch proof. And plastic won't handle drops well either. 8. Bullshit. A full QWERTY keyboard is much better than a keypad. 9. Those are annoying, and there is email, for people who want to be annoyed. 10. They're better than an average cell phone camera. And people will make better camera apps. 11. Flash is an absolute monstrosity that deserves no place on any platform, and certainly not a mobile device where efficiency matters. 12. See 10. 13. How could it suck? Is pushing a button, then scrolling through a menu, choosing the correct option, then zooming between a few presets better? 14. Wrong. 15. Wrong. 16. Wrong. 17. Thank the flying spaghetti monster! 18. Meh. I've never tried to attach multiple images in an email from a phone. And this may have been changed with the Mail revision anyway. 19. It doesn't need one. 20. They're better than most phone's, and you can put custom ones on it if you like. I like the default (Marimba) myself. 21. Because there is no app to view them, so saving them would be pointless. Apps for viewing various documents will come. 22. Wrong. 23. Memorizing 500 numbers, then typing them is easier than tapping on a name? 24. Five seconds is a loong time. ![]() 25. No it doesn't. 26. No they haven't...it looks smaller in person. 27. Irrelevant. 28. Irrelevant. 1. It's good enough for a phone. 2. It gets much better battery life than that. It gets seven hours while watching a movie! Over 300 in standby! 3. 16GB is a fair amount. 4. Wrong. 5. Explained above. You phail. |

1. The contract is the only way they can sell it for a reasonable price. Would you rather pay $800, or have AT&T pay most of it, and only have to pay $300?
2. I've already explained that. 3. This is an excellent thing. It's not "OS X limitations", it's an intentional feature to keep the iPhone experience as positive as possible. The iPhone (like all phones) doesn't have much RAM, a good CPU, or any swap, so if background apps are aloud, then everything would be horribly slow, and unreliable. And there isn't even any reason for them to run in the background. The developer of the app should simply save the state of the app upon exiting, which would give the illusion of multitasking, without the performance issues. And for apps such as instant messaging that need to receive notifications, there is the push notifications. So, there is really no need for multitasking on the iPhone. 4. Oh noes!! I can't send messages to people who are under 20ft away from me! 5. I've already explained this. 6. It's actually very easy to type with, even with fairly large fingers. And when you do screw up, it automatically corrects it. 7. I've already explained how this is a very good thing. And all of those phones blow. The software is horrible. |

It takes a few days to get used to typing on it...
And they do blow. They have horrible software. There is nothing good about it. The UI feels soo mechanical, compared to the natural feel of Cocoa Touch. Then it technically blows, compared to OS X, which is basically the most advanced general purpose OS available. And there's also the fact that they have basically no third party support. And most of those phones use Windows CE. It is an absolute piece of complete shit. I would know, I have it on my Pocket PC. |

Windows CE has nearly no good software, no good method of distribution, and most of the software is shareware, which blows ass. And the iPhone will have more software than Windows CE shortly. Obviously it doesn't already, since it has only had third party software for two weeks.
Go try to find good free software for Windows CE. You won't find much. The best game I could find was pinball, for fu¢ks sake! Then there's the technical side, where it fails completely. I mean, non-preemptive scheduling?!?!!? That's an epic LOL. |

The one without a touchscreen? That uses primitive input methods? And a primitive OS that is only suitable for average $10 phones? LOL
If there is anything that rivals the iPhone, it's the OpenMoko. That thing is fu¢king awesome. |

I'm not. It just isn't good. It may be alright for a regular phone, but not a Internet/multimedia/general purpose phone. (I know there is a word for that kind of phone, but I'm too tired to think of it right now)

how fast can you type?

Well, I took an online speed test, and I got 30 WPM. But I actually type faster than that, because I normally don't have to look back and forth between the keyboard and what I'm typing, because what I'm typing is from my mind...so I'd guess that I can type about 40 WPM.
