I know this article doesnt affect anybody here, but I just found it far too funny not to post. Rockstar confirmed that it made a special edition of the game to comply with the Australia's classification system, which currently does not have an R18+ rating. Rockstar refused to comment on what content had been cut from the game. If past issues with the Aussies are any indication, Rockstar may have had to remove some mclovin. GTA III needed to remove the prostitutes for classification in 2001 and GTA:Vice City also required editing. GTA: San Andreas received an MA15+ until, well ... you know. We're following up with Rockstar to find out what's missing from the Australian version, just because it seems silly for the company not to say it's something simple like picking up hookers. Even Germany's USK gave the game an 18+ rating, so it obviously didn't set off their violence alarms and trigger the group's non-rating limbo maneuver. What are the Aussies going to miss out on when GTA IV launches April 29?

But going back to what you were saying in your previous post, I must say I am slightly surprised that Australia would have the censorship problems, I was always under the impression that games, movies, tv shows, music etc. were censored quite a bit in the US (though I only know what I have been told so could be wrong) but never heard of their being serious censorship in Australia.

When it comes to TV, Movies and things like that, then yes, in North America we do have a bit of censorship, only really when you compare to that of Europe though. When it comes to Video Games though, they are not very censored here in North America. You go elsewhere, Germany, apparently Australia, I didnt know about Aussie Land having so much censorship, and you will see that video games here are not very censored at all.

yea but thats not what I'm referring to.
If youve ever been to Europe you'll know what I mean.(not all parts of Europe though..) We all know the shampoo adverts where they show the girl in a 'shower', but you only see her from the back, not even showing her butt. In Europe, those same ads they show her from the front with her chest clearly visible, and this is day time TV and picture ads outside of TV. They are also just a lot more lenient on what they are allowed to show on TV. There are many strict rules here in North America as to what you can show on day-time TV. Its much more slack in Europe. That is more of what I'm referring to in regards of censorship. *waits for paints reaction saying hes moving to Europe*
