No, I just do it on my own...if there were tutorials for them, then writing them would be pointless because I could just use the ones that already exist...

Yeah, pretty much...that's why they're called programming languages...

It depends on the language. And how in depth you want to learn it. Generally it's not too hard.


And FreeBSD's system for keymaps is better than Linux's. It's basically the same thing, but the keymap files are much more organized and easier to deal with.

You can setup a C++ project to compile C, but it's stupid to do so...Visual Studio is meant for VISUAL programming. Not for command line C apps. And it sucks at GUI stuff as well.

You don't need any special editors...unless you want something that will increase productivity immensely, like Emacs. Maybe you could try MicroEMACS. That's what Linus uses. I've never used it though...
