- Responsible (Willing to make a change and or a difference)
- Gets along well with others

^ All of that is exactly what schools and employers are looking for.

It's not about religion. You're clearly defensive when it comes to beliefs. Personally, I'm not a pro-anything, so that has nothing to do with it.

I volunteer at Special Olympics Bowling. At first I was nervous, unsure about the outcome from Day 1. I stepped in anxious, and have stepped out confident in my skills with people. Last year I would have been shy to even say hi, but now I'm the one shouting hellos to the other bowlers

It's not just giving, its developing yourself as a whole. It's a great experience, i'm sorry you're missing out. I'm not attacking you, I'm merely expressing my opinion and the advantages, so dont go running your mouth without your own points to your argument.

But they show none of those things. Anybody can volunteer for something, regardless if they have those attributes. And they don't suddenly gain them from volunteering. And the fact is, a shy, "irresponsible", drone-like, asswipe who has an outstanding skill is going to be more successful than the opposite.

You may not believe it, but it is about religion, since religion is the only reason those qualities are liked.

1. No one is immediately born with attributes. You adapt to your surroundings. Example, you are moderately wealthy, and supplied with the electronics you demand. Therefore, you're obese, friendless, and bitter to others different to you because that's how you're raised.

2. I'm not new to this thread. I've read your arguments with Bash over religion, its no surprise to me you'd relate any situation to the "harmful influences of religion"

3. The only areas of expertise you currently have are playing with Macs, but I'm sure you've done nothing outside your home to pursue any interest with electronics. You'll be beat out there, if you sit in here.

This statement is actually wrong, in many ways, but in the ways that it is correct, it is a long term process. You do not gain noticeable attributes simply by volunteering for something, unless you do it for years. And the attributes that you may gain are generally not useful, and could be gained in many other situations, many of which are not a waste of time.

I have also NOT been heavily influenced by my surroundings. If I were, then I would be a stupid Mormon oaf. I wouldn't have any knowledge of electronics, and would probably aspire to be a missionary or some other shite. I'd also be racist, and a hypocrite.

You're last sentence is also saturated with hypocrisy.

And it's no surprise that everybody else here relates basically everything they do to their religion. Then you push other people because they're "bad". This whole argument is linked to Christianity. I have a wide array of positions available, because of my programming, and general electronics skills. I could be going around scouting for jobs, but that, in my opinion, would be stupid. You seem to misunderstand the idea of going out on your own. To ride off your daddy's coattails until he provides you with enough money to set up your own business isn't much of "going out on your own". After all, he's seems to be the one providing you with the necessities to take such action.
