I don't see the hype on how thin it actually is. Yeah it's cool. But I think they are going to have problems with them being that thin...

Im with paint on this one. What problems could being thin cause? I also think that dropping it wouldnt be a real big problem just because its thin. It would be made to withstand a fall. Or I should hope at least.

I always think of the Smart Car when I think about this kind of thing. You'd think the car would get annihilated in a crash, but no. Its so strong barely anything happens to it.

Are you going to be doing heavy video editing in Final Cut Studio or something? Because the only major difference between the Pro and MacBook is the GPU, and $1,000. And the GPU on the MacBook is fine for most things. I even use it for Motion, and Shake, and stuff. Of course if I did that stuff every day I would get a Pro for the faster render times and stuff, but I don't, and I doubt that you do.

I still want a 24" iMac...I don't like having a notebook. I thought I would like the portability and stuff, but I don't take it anywhere for fear of damaging it. I always feel vulnerable with a notebook because I could drop it or something, and I'm always touching it directly so it could get dirty and stained or scratched or something. With a desktop I could simply replace the keyboard and mouse. My ideal setup would be a nice 24" iMac with 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo Extreme, 4GB RAM, etc and a small cheap laptop like the Eee or Cloudbook that I'm not going to worry about breaking...
