Anyway, that writer seems to have a rather pessimistic outlook. The 360 isn't doing that bad, and I doubt they're going to release something new so soon after the 360. It would be pointless to release something now anyway, they wouldn't be able to provide much of a hardware improvement over the 360 yet, and it would probably screw them over. But I guess MS doesn't really think anything out, so you never know. They'll probably release something that has slightly better hardware, but they made the dashboard really shiny and transparent so it takes all your resources and you can only play NES games. And whenever you push a button a little paperclip will popup and ask you if you are sure.

Im not even going to bother reading the article. No the 360 is not dying, no the 360 will never die.
The 360 came out in 2005, so the XBOX 720 should be out sometime around 2010, 2011ish because consoles tend to run 5 year cycles. Expect the PS4 and next Nintendo console out around the same time aswell. This generation of consoles might run a bit longer then previous generations though, but nobody knows and nobody will know untill the next consoles are announced. Everything untill then is just BS speculation.

HDDVD dieing will have absolutely no affect on the XBOX 360 whatsoever either because M$ did not commit to the format so its not needed for the 360 to continue on.
