Newbie Game Suggestion Please...

Hello, in the dim and distant days I used to play consoles (PS). But now unfortunately I've no time (most regretably) but my two boys do. They both have 360's and enjoy the game play very much.

The eldest (12) is a pretty mean shoot, and prefers Call of Duty / Halo type games whilst the younger is a driver.

Eldest has got GTA-4 and only plays it when I'm in the room (well that's what he tells me - honest). And I'd like to find some similiar game play but with less adult content.

Is there a game which allows "freestyle" driving as opposed to track events, but also allos the gamer to wander around on foot?

Just let them play GTA. I don't think there are any 360 games who match that description besides GTA and it's clones. And a GTA like game where you can't kill/fu¢k people would be pretty boring...

saints row it a clone of gta but there no ****in just running people over doing mission shooting people and is 20 bucks

yea theres Saints Row(Saints Row 2 is coming out shortly, I'd suggest waiting if you go for that) and there is also Crackdown, both GTA clones with less adult content. I would recommend Crackdown over Saints Row. Check out IGN.com or some other site and have a look into both of them and see what you think. I own them both, they are both great games, GTA like, but no where near the adult content. I would personally choose Crackdown over Saints Row.

One thing to note is that while you can't actually have sex, they make many sexual references, probably more than in GTA.

No i get you totally. Driver was a good example it was there apart from the fact it had shity gameplay and shooting fun a game like that but with gta shooting and driving would be nice for younger kids.

Meh id just buy gta but for kids gta is a bit kinda bad... but 12+ can handle it easy...

NO really thats the problem, if you don't set boundries then kids are gonna go around knifing people even more than they already do... Anyways im cool but i really dont wanna start an argument in my first 8 posts.

But they won't. They can distinguish between pushing a button and watching a cartoon figure on a TV and physically stabbing somebody. If they can't tell the difference then they already have problems, it's not the fault of the game. Not to mention that age is an absolutely horrible way to judge someone.
