I'm not biased. And, I think you are arguing just for the sake of arguing. Resistance was supposed to be PS3's 'Gears of War' and it didn't live up to that. And, I don't like racing games so I could be biased on that one. Like I said, we all have our OPINIONS and some differ from others.

Back on topic: PS3 is not cheaper in the long run. You can get a premium now for 3 something. The PS3 is 600. It will take years to add up.

It is still cheaper if you get them equally equipped, and if you didn't notice the 60GB PS3 got a $100 price drop the other day. (it is being discontinued though)

360: $350
HDDVD Drive: $200
XBL: $250 (assuming you have the console five years since it will probably be at least that long before the next generation of consoles)
WiFi Adapter: $100
Play and Charge: $20

Total: $920
PS3: $500
Difference: $420

It should actually be higher than that since the PS3 has a bigger HDD, but you can't get a 60/80GB HDD for the 360 so I will just leave it like that. The good thing about the 360 is that you don't have to pay for all that stuff if you don't need it, but that is also bad in some ways. If they would have included the HDDVD drive the games could have been so much longer/better.

ok wow, 1st of all, most ppl dont need nor want the HD DVD drive and that is why M$ made it separate so they dont have to do what Sony did and have an insane price that nobodies willing to pay. It is not necessary and doesnt add anything to the gaming experience.

You do not need a Wi Fi adapter so you can take that $100 off the list, myself and probably most of the XBOX Live population do not use a Wireless connection.

You dont need the Play and Charge kit either, thats only if you want the rechargeable battery pack. Is somebody forgetting that when the rechargeable battery pack in the PS3 controller dies, you have to go out and get an entire new controller and not just a new battery pack?

If you want the bigger HDD then get the Elite, which will give you 40 more GB then what the biggest PS3 HDD offers.


When did the 60GB get discontinued? I knew the 20GB did a while ago, but never heard of the 60GB getting dropped aswell.

And a next generation disc format does add a ton to the gaming experience. DVDs are way too ****ing small for this generations games. Look at GoW, it is short as ****. Why? Because they had to squeeze it onto a DVD. They could make it multiple discs, but they wouldn't want to do that because it costs more to produce. If they had included HDDVD (or Blu-ray) it could have been multiple times longer. And look at Oblivion and The Darkness. Oblivion on the PS3 comes with the expansion packs on the BD. That can't be done on the 360 version because it uses DVDs. And a lot of the content had to be taken out of the 360 version of the Darkness (which is a very short game already) to make it fit on a DVD. The PS3 version has a lot of extra content not on the 360 one. (most of it is useless stuff, but it still shows how this could be a major flaw for future games)

I know that the Elite has a bigger HDD, but I was trying to get them as equal as possible for the comparison. If I had used the Elite in the comparison then I would have to go look up laptop HDD prices, and the 360 would still be more expensive, so it is much easier just to leave it that way.

And yes, they are replacing the 60GB PS3s with 80GB ones that come with MotorStorm. They are only putting in the bigger HDD and game to make up for them taking out the Emotion Engine Chip. I would rather have the Emotion Engine though. (the EE Chip is used for backward compatibility, so all the 80GB ones will use software emulation (like the 360 uses) so only 90% of PS1/PS2 games will work rather than the near 100% of the older ones with the EE chip. Note: PAL PS3s have never had EE Chips)

Take $300 off of that because you don't need the HDDVD Drive. Also, you don't need the WiFi adapter. And, I will gladly pay $120 more for a better product with more shit available.
