about the elite

I have had xbox since it came out and am looking into getting a new elite are they the best and why? are they better than the halo 3 version? I am just curious and need some help with my desision.

They are exactly the same as the other ones besides the color and that it comes with a 120GB HDD. But since you already have one, it would be more logical to just buy a 120GB HDD to put on it rather than buying a new console.

Do you have an Xbox or an Xbox 360 ?, if you already have a 360 core or Premium, then Paintballer's right just buy the larger Hard drive if you want.

However if you mean you still just have the original Xbox since it came out and this is your first 360, then by all means get the Elite, all 360 models have the new heat sync now, Premium and Elite both come with HDMI & HD component jacks and cables and of course the Elite is black, which in my opinion looks alot better, i for one am very happy with my Elite.

Besides alot of Premium owners are finding out that if they have Xbox live and do a good amount of downloading and game saves and have other video or audio content, their 20 gigs aren't enough.
I guess it's all personal preference and the individuals use of Xbox Live.

thats not actually true paintballer. The Halo 3 XBOX 360 has the new 65nm chip in it whereas the other consoles dont. The only way the Elite is better is the 120GB HDD. You cannot put a 120GB HDD on the Halo 3 360. Can u image how bad that would look!? A grey HDD on a GREEN console!?! In the other regards, yes paintballer is right, they are the same.

I thought they were doing that on all the new ones? It wouldn't make sense for them not to since the 65nm chips cost less to produce......

they will eventually, but at the moment, only the Halo 3 360 has the new chips. There is yet proof to show that the new Elites, Pros and Cores(soon to be Arcade?) have them. Im sure this is reason to not enough supply of them at the moment and so they dont want to put it in some but not others.

no i think they started putting them in all consoles made after august 28th, i read it on ign. otherwise yea i would get the elite it has everythin u need
