I just got finished watching this special on the " Voom HD video game network " channel 786 in New York and these guy's were talking about how great first person shooters are and this one moron kept going on and on about how much better the shooters were on a PC as far as graphics and controls go he thinks their best on PC's and he was trying to convince every one to support that platform.
What a stupid asshole this guy is and anyone who shares that opinion for that matter, who the hell would prefer to sit hunched over in front of a 17 to 20 inch screen on a computer desk and slide around a mouse in one hand and trying to push the right keyboard keys with the other? Not to mention having to worry about good old " Minimum System Requirements " and which game will work on your PC you bought just a year ago and which won't, i mean what a pain in the ass. When instead you can sit back 10 to 20 feet from a 32 to 62 inch big screen all nice and comfy in a lazy boy recliner or leather couch with your wireless controller and play the real greatest shooters on earth like all the Halo's and Gears of War, Call of Duty 4 which will all work on your console of choice for as long as it's sold. So who in their right mind would prefer computer games to consoles, even RPG's and strategy games are smoother to play on a console, all games are, so i sincerely say with no regrets what so ever "DIE PC GAMES, DIE QUICKLY, YOU WILL NOT BE MISSED". |

Well, PCs do have better controls and graphics. A mouse is extremely accurate and fast compared to an analog stick, and PCs will always have better graphics than consoles since you can customize them, and put as much money as you would like into them, and they are constantly going through improvements. Consoles will have the same graphics for 5+ years until the next generation is released, PCs can be updated whenever needed. I don't see how screen size is an issue either, since a PC can easily be hooked to a large TV.
After saying that, I do hate PC gaming. I hate Windows, and that is pretty much the only option for serious gaming, and when I play a game I just want to stick it in and play without any delays or problems. I don't want to check the requirements, go buy a new graphics card, install it, figure out why my PC crashed, (probably because it runs Windows :/ ) etc every time I buy a game. I would much rather just buy a game, put it in the drive and play. Plus there aren't really any games besides Crysis that I want that I can't get for a console. But I can see why people like PC gaming too, so I wouldn't say that it needs to die. |

I agree and disagree. I agree that it sucks for the stated reasons about having to upgrade every 2 months or your console wont run the games and constantly worry about the min requirements. I just dont get that.
I would have to say though, RTS games can only properly be played on the PC. Those require the use of a mouse and keyboard. The screen size isnt an issue, because as paintballer said, PC's hook up to TV's so you can play on w/e size you can afford. Also, you can buy ****ing big ass computer screens aswell. A year or 2 back i was at a computer store and they had a 32" computer screen. That was amazing! lol Im absolutely certain that the reason your saying this isnt completely based on the facts you presented though. Im sure you believe the things you said, a lot of it is true and i believe aswell, but i think the main reason your saying all this is because your precious little macs cant play games(well most) EDIT: Woo 700 posts!!

After the Vista's crappy release with all it's bugs and problems no one in here should dare argue on the side of PC, because i guaran-god-damn-tee you Mac OS-X Leopard will be released this friday problem free, Microsoft even stopped preinstalling Vista on new PC's, instead their including a Vista upgrade with each new PC and leaving XP on all new PC's...so what does that tell you. I challenge any PC fanboy in here to go to apples website and watch the OS-X- Leopard tour and then come back and say anything against macs or even that they would'nt love to have one themselves, because the fact is Apple's new O.S. is leaps and bounds ahead of anything on the market and those of you who actually take the time to watch the tour will admit it. |

It has pros and cons, I could go on forever.
I'll stick with the 360 for FPSs. |

It's true that pc's have better graphics sometimes, but to get even mediocre graphics on a computer, you would have to spend a whole freakin lot of money. And besides, the only games I play on my computer are The Sims and Starcraft. Fps's seem too much like a point and click game on the computer.

In regard to playing on a computer monitor.
Computer monitors have better graphics then your HDTV's... plus your not sitting across the room either. Normally a gamer will have at least a 19" Widescreen Hi-Res monitor (if not bigger) and be sitting a foot away. Plus keyboard and mouse is much more accurate then analog sticks. So until a better control method comes out that exceeds the mouse and keyboard, the PC will be superior. Thus far the best alternative to the mouse is the WiiMote, if done properly. Right now the Wiimote is very effective and could eliminate the need for a mouse in practice. Where the Wiimote lacks is the ability to "pick up the mouse and reposition". So if you swing the Wiimote left to right, eventually you'll reach a point where it stops. This is the restriction on a 2D playing surface, but perhaps in the future the Wiimote will gain dominance in a Virtual 3D playing environment. |

This is my first post here, I came looking for CoD4 server status lol..
While PC and console gaming have their advantages over each other it would be hard to choose one over the other. I have both and I like both, the PC can be used for much more than gaming (obviously), but the console has always provided the security factor of the game as far as hacking it goes. I have never heard of anyone legitimately "cheating" on a console game. There is taking advantages of flaws within the game and knowing the game completely which is fine, we all have the ability to do that, it's a level playing field. However there are and have been many PC games whose online play severely suffered due to players creating and using client hacks and automation schemes. Either way, anyone know if the Call of Duty 4 Xbox 360 servers are up? ![]() |

You don't seem to understand what MAKES YOUR CONSOLE GAMES, YOU IDIOT. |
