hey guys whats up im new here and i have a problem, my 360 just started to mess up, my console wont read any of my discs it only reads audio cds but none of my 360 games so i went to best buy to exchange for a new one. I already bought a warranty for it and they tell me the serial numbers on the console does match with the numbers on the hard drive and they cant do anything about it cuz they have to match, so i checked with my friends to see if theres matched only 1 out of my 4 friends had there serial numbers matched and one of my friends just got the halo edition 360 and his didnt match so i need suggestions on what to do. the first thing im thinking about doing is getting my money back for the warranty but i dont want to call microsoft cuz i know that takes a longass time to get it fixed.

that sounds like BS to me. Ive never heard of a serial number on the HDD having to match the 360s. What happens if you buy an HDD seperate!? I say go back and talk to somebody else.
Also, it doesnt take long at M$ if you send your console in during a non-peek time, so do some research and see if theres tons of consoles being sent in right now. When i sent mine in to M$ it came back in 5 business days, ive even talked to people who have had theirs come back the very next day. Theres of course lots of people who have had 1+ month waits..

If you bought the unit as a whole, all parts should match up. Sounds like your trying to scam Best Buy somehow. Did you buy an Elite, swap the 120 with a 20gb, and trying to exchange it for another Elite with a 120gb (effectively collecting 2 120gb HDD's)? Something is fishy about this post. If you bought a Core/Arcade without a HDD bundled... then the HDD information is irrelevant. If you bought a Premium or Elite, where is the bundled HDD? |

Its a Premium xbox 360. I replaced the hard drive once cuz my friend brought his hard drive over but he switched his back when he left my house. I dont know why it doesnt match I checked with my other friends 360 and 3 of my friends hard drives didnt match either. my cousins 360 matched but thats the only one ive seen that matched. I didnt buy an extra hard drive either, and im not trying to scam best buy it feels like theyre trying to scam me which is bullshit cuz thats how I bought it.

If you replaced the HDD then you should have the original around somewhere, I would believe.
Why not put the old HDD on there and then swap it out. If the only one was broke then you'd get a new working one. If you threw it away, then it's as simple as telling the BB guys that you replaced the original. As long as the Premium your exchanging has a 20gb drive, why would it matter if they matched or not. |
