Has this happened to anyone?

I recently bought the 3 month XBL starter kit, and I set it all up. For some reason, my saved data for Assassin's Creed (which I beat and had almost all achievements) was erased and I lost about 400 off my gamerscore.
Can anyone tell me why it erased itself and if I can get it back without having to beat Assassin's Creed again?

when you sign up for live it tells you that your gonna lose the gamer points that you gained with your basic profile and will start with 0 gamerscore with a live account..i know it sucks..my brother got rockband and i logged into my account but we never logged into live so we got pretty far maybe 100 points and it didnt add it to my score, pretty gay. sorry man. is it really that important anyways?

Well that sucks. Good thing I grabbed my LIVE subscription first thing when buying my Elite. Setting up my Live account was the first thing I did.

It does suck to lose all the gamerscore though.

Well I had been a member on live before, but never with that game. I guess it's not really a big deal.
