Must admit im pretty impressed by this now and it's months away from release - looking like a release day purchase right now!

Im pretty hyped for Halo 3, but i must admit CoD4 is definitely up there on my list...

Very impressive trailer but a little too much night vision for my liking.

According to the official CoD site there wont be a Co-op mode available in this game:

However, there will be no Co-op in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. We really focused on really taking this game to the next level and making sure it was the best thing we've ever produced, and with that there were so many new features (single player and multiplayer) that we were able to get into it.

While Co-op was something we wanted to try out for the first time in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare it wasn't something we could implement AND still get all the awesome new features we DID get into the game.

Its something thats for sure being thought about for the future, but for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare we focused on raising the bar on straight up multiplayer and single player experience.

Which is a little disappointing.

Here's what we know so far about Call of Duty 4 (from CoD Forums):

• The famous COD Compass has now been replaced with a scaled down version that appears as a small bar on the bottom of your screen.
  
• The star that directed you to your objectives has now been replaced with a small pulsing circle.
  
• The game will feature weapons that will be capable of firing grenades.
  
• New perks such as faster bullets, more powerful bullets and extra health have been confirmed.
  
• 30 weapons to feature in the game.
  
• No vehicles will be able to be controlled only fired from.
  
• You will be able to sprint in single player as well as multiplayer.
  
• Up on the D-Pad activates Night vision.
  
• Enemies will pounce into hand to hand combat on your allies; you are also able to shoot them off.
  
• There are 3 sections to the perk feature you will be able to choose 1 perk from each of the 3 sections.
  
• Experience points are given out as followed: +5 for killing some one. +10 for killing some one in “Last Stand” mode.
  
• Killing 5 people without dieing awards you with the use of an Air Strike Call.
  
• Killing 3 people will allow you to activate a radar on your HUD.
  
• Like COD3 you will be awarded a higher status in multiplayer games as you kill more people.
  
• Some perks and features are unlocked by doing certain things in multiplayer games
  
• You can change the colour of your gun and make it look like anything you want.
  
• Game types included are: Free For All (Deathmatch), Team Death Match, Capture the Flag and Search and Destroy.
  
• The realism mode is now named “Hardcore” mode.
  
• Maps are tailored to the number of players in a match.

thats basically what im doing, single player on modern day terrorist fighting games never really keeps me interested..

I liked the single player on the last two, but it was very short and I could beat it in a few days so I could just rent it for the single player.
