how much do games cost over there? Is 40 pounds enough to buy a new release title or is that only enough to get an old game?

Jesus!
$80 a pop is alot. $60 seems like a lot too. $40 is a good price for me especially when most games suck real bad. Lucky for us we have game demos because I passed on a few titles. I'm sure game developers lose money on people to try before they buy... but on the flip side it pushes them to make better games knowing that if their game sucks we won't buy it. |

hmm lets see, you can ether go an look for the best baragains an get 2 decent but old games or you can get mass effect and still have abit of change.
P.s RRP for games when launched is £49.99 which is $100+ i bought COD4 on launch day for £45 an had to buy 2 copies ![]() |

^ouch... the high prices there are for 2 reasons...
1) high tax (dont say they dont have tax in uk because they do, its just that they add the tax to the final price of the product..) 2) high import rates

So, whereas new games may start off near the £40 mark, they do not take very long at all to drop, I have bought new games for £30 which is nearly $60. And some new titles will actually start at £30. |

^ Going a bit off topic lads.
With those 40 GBP, which I also use as a fellow Englishman, I would buy Halo 3 if you do not have it already (wasn't in your list), or The Orange Box (truly amazing value, around 20-25 quid, and save 15 of it). That's all I can think of now. *Goes and looks in cupboard* Or you could wait a while, GRAW2 is good but old, wait for it's sequel (GRAW 3?) and Battlefield: Bad Company looks like it could be worth a pop too. BioShock if you haven't got it and like a good single player game where you have to use a bit of brains as well. Though not as much brains as in Half-Life 2 . Meh, there's my opinion. |
