Gears of War prequel announced
But it's a book - booo....

The first details have been spotted on the official Gears of War prequel, which is unfortunately (for Gears fans, who are surely not big readers) in book form.

Gears of War: The Pendulum Wars - The Battle of Aspho Fields (we were hoping for a longer title) is being penned by former games journo Steven Kent of Next-Gen.biz and USA Today fame.

According to the official blurb, The Battle Aspho Fields "builds upon the characters backstories and gives eager fans their first in-depth look at some of the past events that shaped the games world." We'll finally know what the hell Aspho Fields was all about, then.

The book's not out until August this year, so before everyone goes mental and starts demanding more game Gears, take solitude in the fact that Gears of War 2 might already be announced by the time this book reaches the shelves. Maybe.

It would have to be a damn good game to make me want to read about it...the only game that I would even consider reading a book on is FF...

Gears fans don't like to read? Head over to the EPIC forums. There are multitudious (that words sounds so good) numbers of people who write their own backstories for all the characters.. that are really long. You just have to check it out.

I wonder. I read some of the best books in school. The Giver, Lord of the Flies, and The Catcher in the Rye (a good summary of the book is in a song called Who wrote Holden Caulfeild? Cool song). When I was younger I read this good book about... oh right 360 forum anyways I probably won't read this unless I'm desperate and its the first thing I see.

I definately read some great books in school, but I also read some absolutely terrible ones..Im not much of a reader myself, Ive only ever read 4, maby 5, books for pleasure. If a book has a movie out on it, I'll go for the movie over the book any day.

everything... they constantly throw books at me. Read this. Read that. Read 300 pages by tomorrow. Its like they're raping me with books! But, back on topic... If I have to read another book for english, I would serioulsy consider this one. Gears of war is awesome, Game or not.

Yeah education is terrible. Dont you wish we could escape to a third world country? where they have nothing like that, at all?!
