Xbox 360: One red light flashes on the Ring of Light and you receive an error message View products that this article applies to. Article ID : 907536 Last Review : April 26, 2007 Revision : 3.8 SYMPTOMS You see the lower-right quadrant of the Ring of Light flash red on the front of the Xbox 360 console. You receive the following Error Message in multiple languages: System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support. If one red light flashes and you do not receive an error message, this may indicate a different problem. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 907535 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907535/) Xbox 360: One red light flashes on the Ring of Light Back to the top CAUSE This behavior occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a hardware failure. Back to the top THINGS TO TRY 1. Turn off the console, disconnect and reconnect all cables, then turn the console back again. 2. If an Xbox Hard Disk Drive is attached to the console, turn off the console, and then remove the Hard Disk. Turn on the console and test for the error. If the error does not reoccur, turn off the console and reattach the Hard Disk. Alternate testing with the hard drive connected and removed to see if the error occurs only while the hard drive is attached. For more information if the on-screen alpha-numeric error is E67, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 917874 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917874/) Xbox 360: One red light flashes on the Ring of Light, and you receive error E67 3. If an Xbox Memory Unit (MU) is plugged in to the console, turn off the console, and then remove the Memory Unit. Turn on the console again and test for the error. If the error does not reoccur, turn off the console and reinsert the MU. Alternate testing with the MU inserted and removed to see if the error occurs only while the MU is inserted. 4. If you continue to experience this behavior, contact Xbox Customer Service. Note If the agent cannot help you resolve this issue, you must return the console to Microsoft for repair.

I seem to recall hearing it cost around $175CDN. Im not sure about that. If you call up M$ support they will be able to tell you.

Yea suppose you could try to force the RROD on it so you can get free repairs.
Or theres always the option of just straight up lying to M$ and saying it has the RROD even though it doesnt. Syntax(another member on this forum) did that. He sent his console in for repairs saying it had the RROD when it really didnt. He got a console back with no hassels. So you could do that aswell if forcing the RROD doesnt work out.
