What is the consensus of opinion on 35 ft cables. Have rung Microsoft and they don't recommend anything over 2m. So it is either 35ft cables or wireless adapters. What does anyone think?

i have a 50 feet wire and it runs fine...

i would say wired because u can get like a 50 feet wire for like $15-25 off ebay...

I doubt it would cause problems. TTR has a cable that goes over his roof, so I'm pretty sure that it's pretty damn long...

Yea I have a huge cable, its in the range of 70 to 80 feet or so and theres no problems whatsoever. No lag at all. M$ just say that because they want you to spend more money on their products. If they tell you that and you go wireless, they just earned $200+ off of you that they wouldnt have if they told you to go wired.
A 35ft cable will not be a problem at all.

Put a ladder up the side of the house and climbed it with cable in hand. Simple enough. Its a special Outdoor weather proof cable, so it doesnt get damaged by the weather. It can however get damaged by animals, that has thankfully not happened so far though. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Thank you all very much. 35ft cable it is then. Next question. Where do I get it and the connectors for the end. Is it just called ethernet cable?

Ethernet Cables are pretty much sold everywhere. Even some non-electronic stores have them. Ive found them in Dollar Stores. Now the dollar store ones arent long ones, in order to get one of the size you require, youd have to either get it online(ebay etc) or from a proper electronic store I imagine.
