Hi all,
I was playing my 360 yesterday, when after about 20 mins of play, the shading textures on the screen became really dotty ( not the technical term i know, lol). It was that bad that I could make out what was happening on screen. At first I thought it was maybe a problem with the game I was playing (Call of Juarez). I then decided to quit and play a different game (Eternal Sonata). Same again, after around 10 mins of playing, certain texture became dotty/bitty. Is this a known problem with the 360? If so, what is it and what can be done to fix it. Oh yeah, my 360 is 2 months out of warranty. ![]() |

Nope, TV is fine, its just when I'm playing the 360.
Ive taken the lead out of the back and blasted it with compressed air to clean it out a little, but still does the same thing? Its only certain parts of the screen that it effects, mainly shodows. Another example: When playing the game (Call of Juarez), Im standing in a barn, but can see the shape of the sun through the roof (a white dotty circle). |

The best way I can describe it is: When you play a game on the PC but the graphics card cant handle certain textures, so it does not display them properly. I'll try to take a pic if I can. |

You may have to send your 360 off for repairs

I've checked a few different places and the cheapest I have found is £30 so far.
I cant believe Microsoft know that this is a common fault with their product, but still charge people for the repair. Surely if they are providing a product that has been recognised as problemmatic, they should be repairing them for free. Hardly fair to the people who have supported from day 1 (bought one on release, but gave it to my nephew as a gift, kept new one, lol). Supposed I gotta get it sorted either way with GTA4 on the way! |

It must be frustrating not being able to play the 360,I haven't had any problems with it yet, hopefully it stays that way.

I'm guessing that you get error code E74 too? It is almost surely an issue with your GPU. Just try to purposely cause three rings, or lie and tell MS that it has three rings since it would then be covered under the warranty. Another member here told them that his had three rings when it didn't and he didn't have any trouble.
