Error Code : E73

Hey everybody
So heres the story. I bought a cheap xbox 360 on ebay, it originally had 3RLD, which later developed into 3 RLD and Error code E74. I done the X-clamp fix, that worked for 20 minutes before the screen went and it went back to error code E 74. So i did the fix again, and this time it lasted for a day, before going back to E 74. I have just done it a third time, and now i get error code E73. I've read this is an ethernet port problem, so i tried plugging in an and ethernet cable, then unplugging the cable, nothing worked. So i opened up the xbox, and applied heat to the ethernet port, and nothing, its still the same. How can i fix this?

well sorry to say it but you made a huge mistake buying it off of ebay, and then f*cking with the internals, you should have tried getting it repaired as soon as you got the red ring. theres still hope that you can have it repaired at microsoft, but it probably wont be free since you voided the warranty and im guessing no receipt either but microsoft will do anything for a little cash, it might not cost as much as a new 360, but the money you spent for the thing on ebay, then in repairs, u might aswell have bought a brand new one lol..so heres your options, 1. call microsoft and explain the situation ( i would leave out the x clamp part, just say you bought it on ebay and thought it was fine ) 2. see if the ebay member would possibly accept returns at this point(unlikely but worth a shot) 3. throw the pos out the window, its stress relieving and if you live on a higher level, it makes a bigger bang and makes this option worth it afterall.. goodluck!

I don't think that Microsoft is the best answer,I'm sure he can find someone good enough to fix it and would charge him Less.

true, but theres that other person who just posted on here who did that, he went through some other company which charged him less then M$(I think?) but when he got the console back it still didnt work and they wont refund his money. At least by going through M$ you will get a working console back, and if you dont, then at least you'll be able to get something for free most likely.

In this case though Im pretty sure M$ wont fix it considering its been tampered with, so I think some other company(or self repair) is the only way to go...

Yeah but let's not forget,our friend here bought it off E-bay to save money..Is he really going to spend an ammount of money if he could have put together with the money he bought the cheap 360 for that would be enough to buy a regular 360?

aparrently e74 is a failure in the av chip located by the av jack try replacing your av cable that's what the problem is sometimes a faulty av cable.

A GPU failure generates the same error code.

Yes but mostly its a scaler chip problem almost over 90% of the time.
