thanks for the reply paintballer didn't think of the drivers! can i connect it through my pc which is wireless i cant do it through the modem as this is 3 floors down or am i gonna have to by the adapter??

Yes. You can run an ethernet cable from your PC to your 360. Then you can just choose to share the connection on your PC. (the method varies depending on your operating system)
