Ya, anything that leeches power that should be going into the console is going to cause problems. They should have their own AC plug. Or USB would probably work too because that is probably the last thing the console gives power to. And the fan only has five reviews compared to the Intercooler's fourty-five.

But the higher amount of people that rate it the higher the chance that someone that had his console break because of it rated it. If you look at the Intercoolers reviews the first five people all gave it a good review too. And it is pretty obvious that this is no better than the Intercooler as it is almost exactly the same.

yes, but the fans are aligned to the fans in the 360 to give it good air flow... and it turn on when the 360 is really hot it turns on, and off when it cools down! so it wont be use as much power as the intercooler.

im pretty certain the fan will be on 99% of the time, the other 1% of the time only being when the console is first turned on. Within a couple minutes of the system coming on im pretty certain the fan will activate and permanently stay activated untill turned off...So its not much different...Although the fans may be aligned, the power leeching is still going to be exactly the same. Im guessing since there is only 5 reviews for the TechNet fan that its a brand new item and so of course its going to have nothing but excellent reviews, the Intercooler had nothing but excellent reviews when it first came out. Then the problems started happening and it got bad reviews. So give the TechNet some time and im pretty certain it will kill 360's excatly the same the Intercooler did and start getting bad reviews. And ppl with the TechNet will be totally screwed because TechNet doesnt currently offer Free repairs like Nyko do...

while searching for that answer i found out that there are 3 different versions of the Intercooler...
Question: Are there different versions of the Intercooler? Answer: Yes. Nyko has made modifications to the Intercooler based on consumer input and demand. Question: How can I tell what version of the Intercooler I own? Answer: Version 1 has a black switch next to the power supply input. Version 2 has no switch. Version 3 is named the Intercooler EX. It features a release button, and a groove for the Xbox 360 Wi-Fi Adaptor. Also, apprently the Intercooler is now called the Nyko Intercooler EX. Finally found a link about the warranty. http://www.joystiq.com/2006/11/14/ny...units-shipped/ *In response to this alleged defect, Nyko vows: "For those consumers who feel they have received a defective product, Nyko will replace both the damaged Intercooler 360 and Xbox 360 console upon first hand verification that the Intercooler 360 caused the system to fail." Also, if you dont believe it, simply call up Nyko Customer Support and ask them. I can tell you 1st hand its true though because literally 2 days ago i got my XBOX 360 and Intercooler back from Nyko after sending it in to them fro the free repair.

I was just doing some research on the TechNet Fan. It is only available in the UK, and all the reviews on it are people who have only just recently bought the fan so theres no word on what the long term effects are. Any issues suffered from the Nyko fan only affected people after owning it for some time. The fan comes with a 1 year warranty on it, but no mention of a repair service for when/if it breaks your XBOX 360..As the other poster earlier said(think it was UKFX, not sure) the customer support for TechNet seemed to be utterly useless, so i wouldnt want to risk my 360 with that company.
