Why would you have the internet without a computer?

he said that hes on a work computer and so gaming websites(like XBOX.com) are blocked and so he cannot get directions on how to setup XBOX Live on the Internet. Unless he can find a non-gaming website, or at least lesser known website, with instructions on how to set it up. Which is why he came here. Theres probably a lot better websites to go to though for this.

I know that, but he says that he wants to setup Live without a computer. I don't think he is using his 360 at work. I don't see why he would have internet if he doesn't have a computer, it doesn't make much sense.

ah i c now. I thought he meant without referring to the computer because the sites are blocked...

It makes sense to have internet without computer...think about it paintballer, not everybody can afford an XBOX 360 and a Computer at one time, so maby he bought the XBOX 360 so he can play on XBOX Live and so he got an internet connection to do so and maby later on when he can afford one, he will buy a computer. Or maby not considering he has easy access to one. He probably got an internet connection simply to play on XBOX Live. Which is perfectly reasonable.

It wouldn't really be worth $30 a month or whatever he pays just for Live, especially when you have to pay for Live too. Maybe if the 360 had a web browser. And if you can afford a 360 then you should be able to afford a computer. You can get a cheap one for $100 or something. Besides, if money was such a huge issue then you could have a computer and a 360 and just use some tunneling app instead of paying for Live which would save you more money than a computer would cost. Or maybe he thinks that he can play on Live without an internet connection? I know some people on WiiChat and other forums ask why they can't get connected to the internet and after everyone tries to help them they find out that the person is on a work computer or something and they don't actually have an internet connection at their house which is why it doesn't work.

Yes being able to afford a 360 means you can afford a cheap computer, but it in no way whatsoever means you can afford both. Lets say you had $800. You could either spend that on buying a 360, or buying a cheap computer. You cannot afford both clearly with that though. If you had $1,600 then you could afford both. But just because you have $800 doesnt mean you have another $800 just sitting there waiting to be spent

yes i am wanting to hook up internet just to play live and so what i just dont need a computer at my house there are thousands at work that i can get on and thats where i do all my computer stuff. so does nebody know or are u going to argue paintballer read and then u will know why i need internet without a computer just for live yes and hwo cares bout the 30 bucks i need to play online.

LOL don't get so offended. They already told you that your 360 comes with instructions or you can look on Xbox.com. It shouldn't be too hard anyway. Take the ethernet cable from your modem and plug it in your 360.
