X-Box 360 Investigation
The Law Firms of Wasserman, Comden, and Casselman, LLP of Los Angeles, California and Stritmatter, Kessler, Whelan, Coluccio of Seattle, Washington are investigating consumer complaints regarding the Microsoft X-Box 360 Video Game Console.

Many consumers have complained that the X-Box 360 Console scratches game disks while they are being played. The scratches leave the disk ruined and unplayable.

WCC and SKWC have filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court Western District of Washington at Seattle on behalf of a nationwide class of consumers who have suffered scratched game disks while using their X-Box 360 Console. The lawsuit seeks: reimbursement for consumers for the cost of games damaged by the Console, reimbursement for consumers who have paid a $20 fee to Microsoft Corporation under a limited disk replacement program offered on ten Microsoft games, repair, free of charge, the Consoles to prevent disks from being scratched, and/or reimbursement for consumers who have paid for an aftermarket repair solution.

If you have experienced problems with your X-Box 360 Console, we would like to hear from you. Please fill out the information form below, and we may contact you for more information.

this is interesting, is it true that the disks only get scratched when people move the console while the disk is inside?

my Perfect Dark Zero disk is dead because my 1st 360 scratched it...I never moved the console while it was on and the disk inside, so although most of the cases are probably from moving the console while its on and disk inside, not all of them are. Dont know if you noticed, but when this issue first came up, M$ put stickers over the Disk Tray on the 360's saying dont move the console while the disk is inside. You have to take this sticker off before you can open the disk tray, so its impossible to not see it. The launch consoles didnt have these stickers as i bought one on launch and it wasnt there.

Mine have never been scratched. I think it is only certain drives that scratch them, though I have no idea which ones.

I havent had any scratched yet and someone once dropped my 360 while I was playing Gears.(Now I leave it Horizontal) But one of my friends got an intense scratch it was a perfect circle all the way around and then right after the red rings of death appeared.

EDIT: Btw the game was Madden 07
