Now I've had my 360 from around the launch date. However it seems that I'm currently having some problems regarding the console. Now fortunately it's not the three red rings of death.. Currently my Xbox 360 seems to be having problems with displaying a screen. Last night as I was talking to one of my friends in private chat my screen began to change colours which was quite odd. After that I turned off my xbox 360 and turned it back on and I could hear it going to the dashboard but all i saw was a black screen. At one point I thought it was my T.V that was the problem so I began to flip channels to see if it was still working which it did. So I believe something is wrong with my 360 yet I don't know how to go about fixing the problem. I've tried replugging the wires etc and nothing seems to have worked. Any suggestions on how I should go about fixing this would be great, thanks.

How long ago did it start doing this? Have you tried just letting it cool down and then seeing if it works?

I think it could be either, but he said that he already checked the cable.

It started last night. I tried it again this morning and it didn't work. Also the warranty only covers the three red rings of death I believe.

Matt, Jake probably ate the wire or one of your cats. Check over the entire cable and make sure theres no teeth marks or claw marks in it anywhere. If theres no tear in the outercasing, there might be a tear in the inner wireing. Have you tried your 360 on your 32" TV or the one in your bedroom? Also try plugging your cable into Peters 360. If the you get picture when plugging the 360 with the same cables in another TV, its your TV thats the problem. If you dont get picture on another TV with same cables its could be either the cable or the 360. To find out which, do the last test i suggested. Plug your cable into Peters 360 and try it on the same TV and others. If you get a picture now, the 360's port is broken. If you still dont get a picture, your cable is broken. Hope this is the case! Cause all you need to do then is go to Future Shop or somewhere and buy a new cable.

I'll check over the cables tonight and I'll try plugging my brothers 360 upstairs later on.

Tried Roberts test and it seems the 360 port is broken.
