ok, as all u guys know my 360 got the 3 red rings of death! @_@ and i called M$ and they said that they would ship out a box... and it would be here in 5 business days, well its been like 10 so i decided to call them up to see what happed and it turns out they didn't even ship out the box and the guy had to fill out another form and its going to take another 5-10 business day!

i still use ubuntu from time to time... the only things i don't like about linux is that they don't have a installer 4 every thing... so sometime u have to use the terminal... and do other stuff... and the fact that it doesn't support many software/games

btw who is the 2ed MS hater? i thought u were the only one...

Don't you have a package manager? A high percentage of things can be installed from there. And what is so bad about using the terminal? The terminal is a great tool if you know how to use it. I would much rather simply use apt-get than go through some retarded ass GUI installer. :/ And you can get software to do pretty much whatever you want, and it is usually free and open source, and if there is something that is Windblows only then you can usually run it through WINE, or you can emulate Windows programs using VMWare. Anyway, if installing stuff is really that big of a problem, then you should get a Mac. Most things are installed by simply clicking and dragging the package to the apps folder, (or wherever you want it) and are uninstalled by dragging the package to the trash.

And macmutt is the second MS hater.

i tried the windows emulators! wine is half assed :-\ and the other ones r to comfusing 4 me to get running!

Ubuntu 7.10 is comming out in days! i cant wait!

they have a stable build up but the fully 100% build is comming out in 4 days!

Desktop 3D effects

Compiz Fusion is enabled by default and will bring 3D desktop visual effects that improve the usability and visual appeal of the system. Ubuntu 7.10 automatically detects whether the hardware is capable of running compiz; if not, it falls back to normal desktop. Additional effects can be enabled in "System/Preferences/Appearance" under the "Visual Effects" tab. There you can also disable the effects entirely.

WINE is soo not half assed. It requires much more effort than any other method. Most of the time Windows is just emulated, but that makes it slow as fuçk, and so that you will have all the problems that go along with Windows. But WINE doesn't use Windows, or any code from MS, so to legally run it you aren't required to have a copy of Windows, you won't really have the Windows problems to the same extent, it won't be extremely slow, etc, etc.

Compiz Fusion looks soo awesome. But I'm more of a Mandriva guy, I don't really like Ubuntu, so I'm just going to go with the new Mandriva 2008 with Compiz Fusion, which I just realized was out. Time for a download.

when ever i go to install it gives errors like, destination not found... and some other ones... then it says press enter and when i press enter it goes into the command line :-/

LOL The first time I tried to install it the screensaver came on and the GUI froze up, so I had to go to the command line and restart it. :/ I turned the screensaver off the second time and I didn't have any problems.

^do you only have to burn the iso image to the disk or do you have to that and burn 2-4 other files that come on the torrent?

btw did u use direct dl or torrent?
