Hi, Please excuse the newbie question, but I was wondering if the XBOX
360 HD DVD Add On is better or worse than other brands, such as Toshiba. Once again please excuse my ignorance in this matter. Thank You. |

I have no idea. But I thought they only made the Xbox 360 brand?

The difference is whether or not you plan on using your 360 for the rest of your life.
Honestly the 360 HD drive is cheap, but if your 360 breaks or gets replaced... your out of 2 things. I would go the extra mile and get the standalone unit. That way you can watch HD movies while playing 360 using Picture in Picture!!! |

if you replace the 360 it wont be an issue, you just plug the HDDVD drive into the new 360 player..if the console breaks though and you dont get it fixed, then yes, you are out an HDDVD player at the same time..
