Hello,
Do you have to buy the $50 dollar Microsoft 360 Hdmi Cable, or can you just use a regular one?? Also if you just use component is 1080i as high as you can go with HD DVD Movies Thank You. |

HDMI and DVI are digital signals. Bits either get there or they don't. A $5 cable will work just as well as a $150 cable. Bits don't slide down the pipe any faster regardless how much you spend.
Analog signals are different, but that isn't in question. Buy a cheap one. My cable company gives them away. Perhaps you can call them up and say your dog chewed yours up and you'll need another one. HDMI is a standard that all cable and hardware manufactures must follow. Anyone who strays from that isn't standard (hence not HDMI) |

Yeah, $9 HDMI cable for the win. It does everything, also, $9 dvi>hdmi cable, laptop in digital!
People who pay $20 or more for a cable don't search hard enough. |

If you have an older one then I wouldn't even try to use HDMI. The older 360s aren't capable of outputting in digital, so you will have to use some kind of converter box to convert it from analog to digital, but they are usually a few hundred dollars. $90 is actually very cheap for something like that.
