Hi,
I have not recieved my Xbox yet, but have read many reports that
they overheat. My question is which sort of cooling device should
I get besides the mega expensive water cooling,

I have seen pictures online where the intercooler had burned some
systems where it hooks into the power. Microsoft has a 2 fan white
stand one, also I've seen the crazy black stand one with all the led
lights, and of course the weird usb flexi-cable usb fan.

Can anyone please recommend a top quality fan. Maybe there are some
more out there I have not found or heard of.

One more quick question is it better to have the Xbox 360 set up
Vertical, or Flat like Dvd players??

Thank You Very Much

I would say dont bother with a cooler, its really not needed. Just keep your 360 in a well ventilated area and you should be fine.

The 360 is best kept horizontal(flat like DVD players to use your words) because its safe like that. You cannot knock the system over at any time in any situation, and theres no chance of disk problems as there have been reports of disk errors with the console vertical. Just make sure your console isnt kept on carpet. If you have it on carpet, then horizontal is definitely not a good choice.

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply but i just bought the Intec 360 Glow Stand
with fan. Unfortunately the unit will have to be Vertical, but the stand should
add extra support.

I would prefer to have it lay flat also, but this was the only one I could
find that has a external adapter. Does not plug into 360 for power.

If I made a mistake or if there are fans that do not plug into the 360 and
will allow it to lay flat. Please let me know.

Thanks...

Hi, I also have a small desktop tower Fan, about the
same size as the xbox 360. I could i use it by placing it behind the xbox 360??

Thanks...

one of the worst things you could do is to blow air INTO the 360. You do not want an external fan blowing air into it, all it will do is blow dust into the system effectively killing it.

yes, some of the newer xbox 360 come with a 60mm fans which uses less power and makes it quieter and cooler... to make sure if it is the one look for a 175watt power on the xbox 360 box

I think every 360 needs a intercooler. And think the same about any system. But for the wii.
