Resritctions on My Console ?

Been using live for about year now without a problem. But decided to get my own individual account, cause the whole family use's the current account.

So I went out and bought a reedem card, and everything seemed good till I come to creating the account. After clicking the "Join xbox live" I get the pop up "There are restrcions on this console and you cannot create a new account at this time. You must use the account provided to you by your service provider"

All the family settings are of the console and Xboxlive membership creation is set to allow. So it should work, but it doesnt

So, after a while I decided to phone up. The woman didn't seem to have a clue what I was on about and said that I should:

-Recover the current tag on a diffrent x box

-Then remove the current tag from my x box

-Try and create my new tag

-Then recover the old one back.

Seems pretty risky, and I cannot afford to lose the other account. Any one had this problem before, and is there any other way around it ?

I don't recall multiple accounts on a 360.

Did you buy your Xbox brand new...Obviosly ?
And have you tampered with it at all i.e Custom firmware ?
I see know reason why the console should have restrictions implicated on it if Ts&Cs have not been broken.
Try making the account on a friends console and then recover it onto yours.
Im willing to do this for you if your friends dont own a 360.

No idea whats goin on and why it wont let you make another tag...

sj, of course you can have more then 1 account on a single 360! You can have as many accounts as you want. The Original XBOX you were restricted to only 5 accounts, but they allow you infinite accounts on the 360.

The best solution that I can think of is what was mentioned, creating another tag on a friends box, and then doing Account Recovery on your XBOX to see if it brings it. If you dont have a friend who has a 360, thats pretty tough luck..unless you have a REALLY good friend on Live who would create one for you and not take advantage of knowing all your personal info..

Yup, they sure do LET multiple accounts on a 360! Thats why he is having so much trouble doing it right? I don't care what is said, it is whats being done.

Even the support stated you must go to ANOTHER 360 and make the account then put it on the other 360. Its obvious that you can't "create" multiple accounts on ONE 360.

So no. Don't even give paint your e-mail, he is probably the guy thats been selling e-mails to spammers.

You CAN create multiple accounts very easily. I have five. (I took advantage of the free Live trials)

sj if you dont believe it, go try it on your own console! I have 2 XBOX Live Accounts on my XBOX, and 5 profiles altogether on my 360. Of course they allow more then one profile! What his problem here is I dont have a clue.
