Will I Be Banned From Live ?

I'm looking at an xbox 360 on ebay that has i xtreme 1.2 firmware, Will i be able to connect to live using a back up game without being banned at the moment ? (the game would be stealth patched).

I would never get on Live with a "backup". I guess if you have everything up to date then you should be ok, but still...unless you check online every time before you play to see if MS has found ways to detect that version of the firmware then you'll probably be banned eventually. And when they do find ways to detect it, updating is a bitch.

As for getting the RRoD, you can find people that will fix it for you, or have MS do it for a price.

if the console has been modded, M$ wont touch it, even if you pay them.

Going on Live with some sort of mod is pretty stupid, because as paint said, if you dont keep checking and seeing if M$ can detect your current thing, then you will get banned. and when you get banned for modding, they dont just ban your account, they also ban your console, meaning you'll have to buy a new console and then make a new Live account.
So it really isnt worth it.

MS has no way to tell that you soft modded it as long as you reflashed it with the original firmware before you sent it to them. Obviously the warranty would be void because the console was opened, but they should still repair it.

Are you familiar with the process you go through to flash it? It doesn't require anything in your 360 to work besides your DVD drive...
