what the heck happened? it says "this account is not allowed to download content with this rating" or something along those lines. i tried to download the quake 4 demo cause i didnt know what it was about but i heard it was a cool game..and this is what i got.

on wiichat someone told me i wasnt the only one with this problem? and that it's most likly because it's a child account. but it's hard getting any info over there..considering it's not a 360 forum..

what do i do? can i change my "child" account to an "adult" account. im 17 btw, and i accidentally put my real age in when making an account cause i wasnt thinking!

edit: i did check my parental controls again, and they are all still off.

Yea this is a new safety feature M$ has implemented with the Fall Update to keep Child Accounts safe. The only way to get around this is to upgrade your Child account to an Adult account. You can upgrade the Child account by clicking your GamerCard on the Dashboard and going to Account Management. Im not sure if it will allow you since you are 17, it might only work once you turn 18. Give it a shot and see though. If it doesnt work, then you are stuck and cannot do anything about it untill you turn 18, srry.

I used mine, it was never an issue. The only time it became an issue was as soon as this update came out, but by the time it came out, i was already 18 so i simply upgraded my account right away. So I never had a problem with using my real age

not a noob. MSRB M=17+ for mature content. why is M$ being such a pain in my ass about this?

yea thats what people are complaining about. M rated content is 17+, yet M$ has it set to 18+ on the 360..Theres currently no fix besides upgrading your account to adult
